About the Clinic at Potta, Chalakudy

Why Potta

Potta is on the highway side of Chalakudy, between the town and Koratty. The building stands on NH 544, so buses and cars reach it from either direction.

The clinic is a first floor space in the Rev. Joseph Ramban Memorial Building, Potta. It has two treatment rooms.

Ownership

M/s Kallada Smile is a partnership firm. Dr. Pavya Priya leads the clinical side and Santhej Kallada runs the business side.

The rooms

Two consulting rooms, one chair in each. A separate room for sterilising instruments. A waiting lounge, and a front desk where fees are paid.

Equipment

Instruments are sterilised in a Class B autoclave, the kind built for wrapped surgical instruments, and sealed in pouches. A small camera shows your own tooth on a screen, and aligners and crowns are planned from a 3D scan of your teeth.

How we keep it clean

Instruments are cleaned, packed and autoclaved after every patient. Your pouch is opened in front of you, at the chair. Gloves and masks are changed for every patient.

Surfaces are wiped between patients. Needles are used once and then discarded.

Who runs it

Dr. Pavya Priya, Orthodontist, is the clinical head. She holds Kerala Dental Council Reg. No. 28861. Every clinical decision at the clinic is hers.

Santhej Kallada is co-founder and administrator. He runs finance, compliance, procurement and the front desk. He is not a clinician and takes no part in clinical decisions.

Registrations

Kerala Dental Council Reg. No. 28861, held by the clinical head.
No radiation licence is held, so no X-ray is taken here. Where one is needed you are sent to a radiology centre in Chalakudy, about five minutes away by road, and that centre charges you for it.
